Pope Francis 2015 Philippines Visit Official Itinerary

In less than 12 hours Pope Francis will arrive in the Philippines particularly in Villamor Airbase at 5:45 this afternoon. As to this writing people are already arriving to hopefully get a glimpse of Pope Francis as his convoy will transport him to the Apostolic Nunciature, where he will be staying here in from January 15-19, 2015.

Despite the threat of Tropical Depression "Amang" has not altered the plans of the papal visit as to this time.

Here is the itinerary of Pope Francis:

Thursday, January 15, 2015:

Arrival from Sri Lanka at Villamor Air Base, estimated around 5:45 p.m. Motorcade to the Apostolic Nunciature at Taft Avenue, Manila where he will be staying.

Friday, January 16, 2015:

Official Welcome Ceremony by President Benigno Aquino III at Malacañan Palace, Manila, followed by meeting with members of the diplomatic corps. Motorcade to the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (Manila Cathedral) for a Mass with bishops, priests, and the religious leaders. Motorcade to the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay, for encounter with families.

Saturday, January 17, 2015:

Departure for Archdiocese of Palo from Villamor Air Base. Arrival at Tacloban Airport. Holy Mass at Tacloban Airport followed by lunch with the Poor and Survivors of Calamities at Gonzagahaus (Residence of the Archbishop of Palo) in Palo, Leyte. Blessing of the Pope Francis Center for the Poor in Palo. Meeting with the Priests and Religious at Cathedral of Our Lord’s Transfiguration (Palo Cathedral) in Palo. Departure for Manila and arrival at Villamor Air Base.

Sunday, January 18, 2015:

Brief Meeting with the Religious Leaders and encounter with the Youth at Pontifical University of Santo Tomas, España, Manila. Motorcade to Rizal Park, Manila, for concluding Mass at Quirino Grandstand. Monday,

January 19, 2015:

Motorcade from the Apostolic Nunciature to Villamor Air Base for departure to Rome.
